Equine Conditions We Help
Individual physiotherapy for a range of equine conditions.
Every horse responds differently to injury and rehabilitation. At North Western Vet Physio, we assess each horse individually and develop treatment and exercise programmes around their diagnosis, movement, lifestyle and veterinary recommendations.

Conditions we commonly work with include:
Osteoarthritis
Physiotherapy can support mobility, muscle condition and physical function in horses affected by degenerative joint changes.
Laminitis
Once appropriate veterinary management is in place, physiotherapy may form part of a wider rehabilitation programme where suitable.
Tendon and ligament injuries
Carefully controlled rehabilitation can support the gradual return to exercise following soft-tissue injury.
Muscle injuries
Treatment and progressive exercise can help address muscle weakness, altered movement and compensatory patterns.
Kissing spines
Physiotherapy and targeted exercise can form part of a wider veterinary-led management and rehabilitation programme.
Neurological conditions
Some horses with neurological conditions may benefit from physiotherapy designed around their individual movement and functional needs.
Upward fixation of the patella
Targeted strengthening exercises can be used as part of an appropriate rehabilitation programme.
Splints and soft-tissue injuries
Physiotherapy may help address compensatory movement patterns and support a controlled return to exercise.

Performance-related concerns
We also work with competition and performance horses where there may not be a specific diagnosis.
Regular physiotherapy can help support mobility, strength and physical condition and can be incorporated into a horse's wider training and management programme.
If your horse has a condition that isn't listed here, please contact us to discuss their individual needs
