Veterinary Physiotherapy is the use of science based treatments with a variety of techniques to treat animals with a holistic approach.
Manual therapies make up the basis of most of our treatments, with massage and stretching used on nearly all of our clients, we find these invaluable to our treatment.
Electrotherapies are also key to our tool kit, we utilise these based on the latest research to ensure your animal receives the highest standard of care.
Remedial exercise programmes or as most of our clients call them, 'homework', is prescribed to each individual case to target specific areas. These often include exercise prescriptions, thermotherapies and stretching.
We base our treatments on the latest research and are constantly updating our skills and knowledge through regular CPD. North Western Vet Physio is a member of the National Association of Veterinary Physiotherapist (NAVP).
We mostly treat horses and dogs, although we do have experience treating cattle, sheep and cats, please contact us for enquiries of other species.
Equine physiotherapy can be not only be beneficial after an injury or diagnosis but also for maintenance and performance treatment. Each horse is treated on an individual basis whether it be post kissing spines diagnosis or a young horse beginning their ridden career.
Canine physiotherapy is most routinely used for dogs post surgery or for osteoarthritis management. We also see a variety of working and competition dogs for maintenance and performance treatment.
